Between softness and a point

The Idea

The pear shape is one of the oldest cut forms — a teardrop suspended. Elara explores the tension inherent in that form: the rounded base holds, the pointed tip releases. Worn as a solitaire or as a drop, it reads differently depending on the hand, the finger, the light. No two Elara pieces read identically.

What makes it unique

A pear diamond requires the cutter to balance two distinct optical zones — the rounded half and the pointed half behave differently under light. The point is protected with a V-prong; the curve sits in an open basket. In Elara, we work with cutters who grade the belly's symmetry by eye as well as by instrument, because in a pear stone, symmetry is visible rather than mathematical.
