Ring Size Guide

A few things to know before measuring: — Fingers are at their smallest in the morning and slightly larger by evening. Measure mid-afternoon or evening for the most accurate result. — Your dominant hand tends to run a quarter to half a size larger than your other hand. Measure the specific finger on the specific hand you intend to wear the ring on. — Cold reduces finger size; heat increases it. Avoid measuring in extreme temperatures. — Wide bands sit differently to narrow bands. If you are ordering a band wider than 6mm, we recommend sizing up by half a size. — If your knuckle is significantly wider than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size between the two. When in doubt, select the larger of two sizes — a slightly loose ring is easier to resize than one that cannot be removed.

The most reliable method if you already own a ring that fits the intended finger.

1. Find a ring that fits the finger you intend to wear your new piece on — one that slides on and off comfortably without being loose.
2. Place the ring on a flat surface and use a ruler to measure the internal diameter of the ring band in millimetres.
3. Compare this measurement to the Circumference column of the size chart below, using the formula: circumference (mm) = diameter (mm) × 3.14.
4. If your measurement falls between two sizes, always choose the larger of the two.

If you do not have a reference ring, use this method with a length of string or a thin strip of paper.

1. Cut a strip of paper approximately 1cm wide and 10cm long, or use a length of thin string.
2. Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you intend to wear the ring on. It should lie flat against the skin without pinching.
3. Mark the point where the paper or string meets itself to complete the circle.
4. Lay the marked strip flat on a surface and measure the distance from the end to the mark using a ruler. This measurement is your finger circumference in millimetres.
5. Locate your measurement in the Circumference column of the size chart below to find your European ring size.
6. If you are between two measurements, select the larger size.

Maison Thaevia uses the European sizing system, which corresponds to the inner circumference of the ring in millimetres. Use the table below to convert from UK, US, or Japanese sizing.

All measurements correspond to the inner circumference of the ring. Sizes noted as indicative — individual ring profiles may vary slightly.

If your ring arrives and the fit is not exactly right, we offer a complimentary first resize on all Maison Thaevia rings within 30 days of delivery. This applies to rings that can be adjusted without compromising stone settings or structural integrity. Rings with full-eternity stone settings, certain wide bands, and pieces with complex shank designs cannot always be resized — we will advise at the time of your enquiry.
